“Sacred Roots”
-A journey from Hayti to Allada-
Sacred Roots is a powerful reflective documentary that explores the deep cultural, historical, and spiritual foundations of a community’s identity: Vodou - one of the world’s most misunderstood yet enduring traditions.
Moving beyond myth and stereotype, the film presents Vodou as a living spiritual system grounded in ancestral wisdom, community healing, and cultural resilience.
Through ritual, reflection, and lived experience, Sacred Roots examines how Vodou continues to shape identity, memory, and belonging across generations and geographies. With intimate storytelling, immersive visuals, and personal testimony, the film reveals Vodou as a vital bridge between Africa and the Americas, between sacred tradition and contemporary life, and between ancient kingdoms and modern Vodou communities in Haiti and the United States. Sacred Roots ultimately honors the enduring power of heritage, ritual, and collective memory.
